Ingredients

  • 2 cups idly batter (Varsha Foods batter recommended)

  • Oil or ghee (for greasing)

  • Water (as required, for steaming)

  • Salt (if needed, adjust to taste)

Directions

  • Heat water in an idly steamer or pressure cooker.
  • Grease the idly plates lightly with oil or ghee.
  • Pour Varsha Foods idly batter into each mould without overfilling.
  • Place the idly stand inside the steamer.
  • Cover and steam for 10–12 minutes on medium heat.
  • Check if the idlies are cooked by inserting a toothpick; it should come out clean.
  • Turn off the heat and let the idlies rest for 2 minutes.
  • Gently remove the idlies using a spoon.
  • Serve hot with chutney and sambar for best taste.
